Our beautiful Cologne Cathedral - the city's landmark

Every citizen of Cologne carries it in his heart, from the laying of the foundation stone in 1248 until today. The former cathedral did not seem to be representative enough for the citizens of the town, especially since 1164 the bones of the Three Kings could be worshipped here.

In fact, its completion took more than 500 years and today its towers decorate the cityscape. It is funny that the north tower with its 157.8 m is 7 cm higher than its brother the South Tower. The Cologne Cathedral covers a total area of almost 8,000 m² and can accommodate about 20,000 people.

In 1996 the cathedral was declared a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site because of its many works of art and we also say that the Cologne Cathedral is always worth a visit.

• May - October from 6.00 to 21.00 o'clock
• Sightseeing on Sundays and public holidays 13.00 - 16.30 o' clock
